What We Test During a Sea Trial
Engine Performance
Cold start, warm running, WOT RPM, temperature, oil pressure, unusual noises or vibration
Handling & Maneuvering
Steering response, tracking, trim at various speeds, backing, docking characteristics
Electronics at Sea
GPS, chartplotter, depth sounder, radar, VHF — all tested under real operating conditions
Systems Under Load
Cooling system, charging system, exhaust, transmission — how everything performs when it matters
Post-Trial Inspection
Fluid levels, leaks, belt tension, hose condition — checked again after the run
Ground Tackle Test
Anchor windlass operation, rode condition, anchoring procedure verification
